OCPP GUIDE

How does EV charging management work?

OCPP connects a compatible EV charging station to management software. Revavolt brings charging information together to help you manage access and energy consumption.

From EV charger to dashboard

  1. 01

    Configure the connection

Enter the server address and the EV charger credentials in its configuration interface. Revavolt uses OCPP 1.6 JSON over a secure WSS connection.

  2. 02

    Organize access

Assign RFID badges to drivers or configure a private EV charger to work without driver authentication, depending on your use and the equipment capabilities.

  3. 03

    Receive EV charging session data

The EV charger sends session events and energy meter readings. The software brings together timestamps, kWh and the identifiers received.

  4. 04

    Analysing uses

View EV charging sessions, calculated costs and event logs. Export data for your internal records.

What the EV charger measures

The kWh displayed come from the information transmitted by the charging station. They do not necessarily correspond to the energy stored in the battery, as losses can occur during recharging.

What Revavolt does

Revavolt brings together your locations, EV chargers, RFID badges and tariffs. View sessions and useful events without checking each device separately.

What to check

Check the EV charger model, firmware, Internet access and support for OCPP 1.6 JSON. OCPP compatibility alone does not guarantee every feature.

Prepare your installation

Tell us the exact model of the charging station, its firmware version, the number of charging points and your use: home, accommodation, business or paid charging.
